Machine Care Plus® application made available via the Defence Information Infrastructure (DII) and the Internet. Following a successful collaborative project between AES, the UK MoD and others, AES application server hosted in The Land Environment Portal (TLEP). TLEP is a secure shared-working environment that enables industry and military organisations to share information and work collaboratively on projects. Hosting of the AES application on TLEP is a significant achievement for the AES early failure detection service as user access to information, such as diagnosis and remedial actions, is much more efficient.

Following an extensive competitive tender process, the UK MoD awarded AES a 10 year, Pan IPT contract for the continued provision of their Machine Care Plus® equipment early failure detection service. The contract, which commenced in Apr 2009, covered oil sampling and analysis of engines and major assemblies fitted to Challenger 2 (CR2) Main Battle Tank (MBT), Challenger Armoured Repair and Recovery Vehicle (CRARRV), Warrior (WR) Infantry Fighting Vehicle, AS90 Self-Propelled Artillery System, Titan and Trojan Engineering Tank Systems (ETS) and Beach Recovery Vehicle (BRV), fielded by UK land forces in the UK, Germany, Canada and on operations world-wide.

The AES involvement in the TROJAN and TITAN Production Reliability Batch Test 5 ends with the successful completion of the trial. An AES engineer continues to work with the Royal Engineers Trials and Development Unit (RETDU) and Combat Tracks Group (CTG) as the vehicles Final Acceptable Build Standard (FABS) is formalised.

AES awarded a contract by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) Turret and Weapons Team, Combat Tracks Group (CTG) based at MoD Abbey Wood, UK under the Framework Agreement for Technical Support (FATS) to provide a RARDEN Cannon Examination and Usage Database. As well as the database design, development and support, AES experienced staff transferred legacy examination and usage information from hand written reports into the new database, ready for use.
